Stop in for the AAC CoffeeHouses at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. These gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, "show-and-tell" and workshops. We come together on the second Wednesday for a booked musical performance and an art exhibit at Simple Pleasures in St Albans. On the fourth Wednesday come to the Kept Writer in St Albans for acoustic Open Mike Night featuring music, readings, and more from the best new artists in Vermont.
The Vermont Hand Crafters 50th annual Holiday Craft Show begins today at the Sheraton Conference Center and continues through Sunday. CRAFTERS SHOW THEIR HANDS
Franklin County exhibitors include Nancy Adriance of Richford; Elizabeth Boudreau of East Berkshire with dried flowers; Carol Crawford of Bakersfield with handwoven goods; Carol Crawford of Bakersfield with handwoven goods; Susan R. Delear of Enosburg Falls; Christine Fichman of Montgomery Center with hand painted silk scarves; Cynthia Humiston Weed of Enosburg Falls with wooden jewelry and barrettes; Magdalena Michetti of St. Albans has fused and flame-work glass; and Kate Stevens of Fairfield has photography and fabric pillows/hangings.
The four-day, pre-Thanksgiving event spotlights hundreds of fine hand made Vermont crafts including functional and decorative handmade baskets, applique fabric pillows and quilts, hand pierced lampshades, wooden signs, figurines or elves, hand-thrown pottery, delicate dolls, note cards, designer clothing and accessories, fine, gemstone, titanium, silver, wood and polymer clay jewelry, dried arrangements and framed art, furniture, photographs and much more. There will be Vermont specialty foods and maple products.
Vermont Hand Crafters is a non-profit Vermont group that develops and coordinates marketing opportunities for Vermont crafts as well as public education on the value of Vermont crafts to our economy and communities.
Admission is $5.00 for a weekend pass. Children under 16 are free and $1 discount coupons are available at the South Burlington Ben Franklin and the Paper Peddler in Winooski Mill. Show hours today and tomorrow are 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

HIGHGATE-ST ALBANS-SWANTON--World famous rock group 8084 joins me on Neighbor to Neighbor tonight at 9:30 on Adelphia Channel 15. The program repeats tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
FAIRFAX--Regular Music Session with acoustic instrumentalists playing traditional songs at the Foothills Bakery on Saturday, 1-4:30 p.m. Admission is free by donation.
ST ALBANS--The weekly Kept Writer free writing group meets next Wednesday, November 27, 6-8 p.m. (I should go to that--I could get this entire column done and still have room for a snack.)
The big news is our search for an Executive Director. The Opera House at Enosburg Falls and the All Arts Council have joined forces to "share" this position which means we can now offer an actual desk. We will formally advertise the post soon, but details are available now right here. MEETING NOTES
The Membership committee is gathering demographic info and collating the discounts and other benefits the AAC offers dues-paying members. We will mail notices in December to past members and to interested Franklin County arts supporters.
"We need more people to help," Peter Ford said.
The arts council has an outstanding obligation that needs to be completed. The Artists Register and Community Calendar project has been on the back burner for the past two years. The grantors want us to either finish the project or repay the grant. Since technology has changed enough that we can accomplish the calendar--and the volunteer listings--more easily, we expect to pursue that in the First Quarter of 2003.
The next meeting is Thursday, December 5, at the NMC Conference Center.
PAYING JOB (until filled)--The growing All Arts Council needs an Executive Director to manage day-to-day operations, publicity, fund raise, provide tech support for artists and presenters, manage volunteers and membership, handle correspondence, and rent out and manage theatrical space. EXHIBIT PROPOSALS (November 30)--The Humanities Fine Arts Gallery of the University of Minnesota, Morris is accepting exhibition proposals for the 2002 - 2003 and 2003 - 2004 academic years. ArtMagick is a non-profit virtual art gallery that displays paintings from art movements of the 19th and early 20th centuries. It emphasizes work by artists who have been forgotten or neglected from 19th Century American painter Edwin Austin Abbey to early 20th Century Austrian artist Hans Zatzka.
