The All Arts Council, Franklin County Caring Communities, and Common Ground's first Stop Drunk Driving Music Campaign continues a search last week for talented young musicians from Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. SKOOLTOONZROOLZ?
Time is short. The Stop Drunk Driving Music Campaign still needs a name and still needs music. Send your suggestions for a name by Email.
A total of 30 artists will appear on the digitally distributed "CD" with the music available for free downloading. The deadline is March 30. There is no entry fee.

ST. ALBANS--The Fairfax Community Theater Company audition schedule continues with a call for Narnia the Musical at the First Congregational Church on Friday, 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, 1-3 p.m. CALL FOR THESPIANS
As a white antlered dancer glides down the aisle of the Church the audience enters the storybook forest of the 1950 C. S. Lewis tale The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The family musical was designed and beloved of grownups.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script and a song of your choice. Please bring your own music. Including Aslan, the Great Lion, and the White Stag, there are roles for five adult males and one adult or late teen male; two adult females; two boys, about 13 and 10; two girl, about 12 and 9; plus a dancer, one age and gender nonspecific role, and a chorus of good and evil Narnian animals and beings.
Performances will be staged in July in St. Albans and South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents the annual talent show Bash 4 Cash on Friday at 7 p.m. Featuring acts from high schools around Vermont, the proceeds this year will benefit the Burlington Boys & Girls Club as well as Vermont's soldiers serving in Afghanistan. With several schools participating, Bash 4 Cash showcases the most talented students Vermont has to offer. ON STAGE LIVE

COMIC ART AND STORYBOARDING (March 31)--Bam! Pow! Zap! Foundry Art Center wants original works influenced from traditional or contemporary comics in any media for a juried show. INTERNATIONAL ONLINE COMPETITION (March 31)--The Art Interview quarterly hosts a juried exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures in any medium. It is open to all living artists worldwide aged 16 and up. Participation in the Art Interview Biennial Exhibition and a total of EU17,000 may be awarded each quarter to all winners. The competition is run completely over the Internet, which eliminates the need for slides and/or the transportation of artwork. Entry fee payable by PayPal.

ART OF THE NUDE (April 21)--The upcoming N*des-of-the-Month calendar contest will select 61 artworks. Entry fee of $1 per piece includes internet display for all entries, a personalized virtual gallery, other displays and listings. Click here for more info.
ANARCHY (April 23)--Silly season is almost upon us as one side of the political spectrum tries to absorb all things into government and the other seeks revolution, disorder and chaos. Anarchy with its wild diversity and public reactions makes good fodder for art. Studio Place Arts in Barre will mount an exhibit to honor the historic Barre connection to the Anarchist Movement. FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN ART COMPETITION (April 30)--$3,500 in cash awards for seven categories: best two dimensional work (paintings, drawings etc.); best song; best short film; best sculpture; best photography; best digitally enhanced photography; and best mixed media. Musician, composer, photographer Clement Yonkers of St. Albans has been building a repertoire with live looping, instrumental, ambient and experimental music. His site includes shows, images, a free t-shirt, his gear, an electronic press kit, a F.A.Q. which includes the answer to "What is loop based music?," a newsletter, and contact info.
