Stop in for live music and more at the Fairfax Music Sessions at the Foothills Bakery in Fairfax most Saturday afternoons at 1 p.m., at various restaurants around Franklin County throughout the week, at the Bayside in St Albans Town most Sunday afternoons, and the Cambridge CoffeeHouses at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

Corliss Blakely of St. Albans has donated a Christmas tree with 33 original paintings to the Festival of Trees. FESTIVAL OF TREES
The Festival of Trees includes an Opening Gala tomorrow evening, plus a Christmas parade, Santa's Workshop, the Sugar Plum Fairies, and hourly entertainment on Saturday and Sunday.
"The committee has done a great job with the three biggies," Chamber Director Jim Walsh said about the Gala, decorating the park, and the first holiday parade in several years. "The park looks great."
The tree event will be in City Hall, the park will be full, and Santa's Workshop at Kingman and Main will host the man in red-and-white and all the crafters.
The Opening Gala begins in City Hall Friday evening at 6 p.m. with a dedication to Rick Manahan. Hors o'doeuvres and a cash bar with music by pianist Cody Michaels will follow.
Ballet School of Vermont presents The Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Auction of Trees. The Boomflowers will play for dancing well into the night.
Maryellen Vickery and the Ballet School of Vermont offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Performance, Tap, Modern, and Jazz in two St. Albans studios. They include the American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum. The Nutcracker company will include Northern Vermont Ballet Company and Ballet School students. Ballet School has recently danced in the SASPA staging of Camelot and performed the contemporary ballet Hummingbird at the Flynn.
The Burlington-based Boomflowers play danceable covers from the Beasty Boys to the 5 Satins, from the Old 97's to Led Zeppelin. The band has Scott Evans, guitars and vocals; Joe Pepper, keyboards and vocals; Troy Pudvah, drums and vocals; Jeff Santoro, bass; and Matt Vachon, guitars and vocals.
The Saturday City Hall schedule includes French carols by Michelle Choiniere, a recital by Claire Hungerford, the Sugar Plum Fairies Tea Party, a sing along for kids and families with Steve and Judy Contampasis, a holiday improv comedy show by the Holiday Follies, and afternoon and evening performances of The Nutcracker by the Ballet School of Vermont.
The Saturday schedule includes the Green Mountain Chorus, the state's premiere barbershop quartet, with a holiday concert, and two performances by the Holiday Chorus and Singers.
The young "Sugar Plum Fairies will be running around all weekend," Mr. Walsh said.
Admission is $20 for the Opening Gala on Friday night. Some tickets will be available at the door but Mr. Walsh recommends picking up your tickets from the Chamber office today. The Saturday and Sunday events are free.
ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on painters Harald Aksdal, Kirsten Doolan, and Nancy Hayden, folk artist Lorraine Pike, and metal sculptor Kasia Szabo. The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments tonight from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The Christmas exhibit continues through the end of December. ART ON THE WALLS
Owned and operated by the artists and sponsors, the Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by Franklin County and surrounding area artists. The Village Frame Shoppe is located within the coop as a resident framer. The Blue Crayon, a small private studio, is available there for individual or small group lessons. The gallery, located at 349 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Nancy Jacobus this month. An Occupational Therapist in the Rehabilative Services Department, Ms. Jacobus' paintings of dancers are unique to her. She also paints bright flowers on silk, and has created a line of beautiful greeting cards.
The show continues through the end of December.
ONLINE--The third art auction to benefit the Vermont Foodbank ends tomorrow at 5 p.m. The auction includes items donated by artists and arts organizations from across Vermont.
All of the proceeds will benefit the Vermont Foodbank and its partner organizations. The Vermont Foodbank works with 280 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers and after-school programs to provide food to communities in all 14 counties. Each dollar donated provides two nutritious meals for someone at risk of hunger. Last year they distributed 7.5 million pounds of food to Vermonters requesting charitable food assistance.

ENOSBURG FALLS--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls presents a Community Christmas Concert at the Opera House on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Community Chorus and the Enosburg Town Band family event celebrates traditional music in Franklin County's historic (and heated) theater. The concert will feature traditional hymns and seasonal songs.
A Silent Wreath Auction to benefit the Enosburg Food Shelf and the Opera House will conclude at this event. Donations are accepted.

BRATTLEBORO--Louisiana Saturday Night Dance Series presents Yankee Chank in the Stone Church on Saturday at 8 p.m. Yankee Chank plays traditional blending Cajun and Creole dance music.

BURLINGTON--Bella Voce Women's Chorus of Vermont presents Joyous Sounds of the Season at the First Baptist Church on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The concert, a mix of beloved carols, a Hebrew song of peace, and new selections combine with bells, flutes, piano, and percussion, announces the arrival of the holiday season.
The concert will include the premiere of Walkin' in Misterioso Land, plus Tundra by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo who was commissioned by Bella Voce, The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy, a syncopated tune from the West Indies, and many more. The Northern Bronze Handbell Ensemble will join Bella Voce as guest artists.
Bella Voce is raffling a Christmas decorated, wooden Victorian dollhouse with furniture. Tickets are $5 each; only 200 will be sold. They are currently available through Bella Voce members including Heidi Anderson in St. Albans and Mary Harwood in Grand Isle. The drawing will be held at the concert reception on Sunday.
Bella Voce is a group of 40 women committed to promoting choral music of quality through performances of high artistic value. Our members serve as role models to women singers of all ages and promote the value of singing as a life long avocation.

BURLINGTON--The Vermont Youth Orchestra Orchestrapalooza takes over the Flynn Mainstage on Sunday at 4 p.m. The annual concert extravaganza highlights four VYOA orchestras and culminates in a side-by-side finale with over 140 musicians. Featuring VYO soloist and Stowe resident Peter Ballyk performing the Hummel Trumpet Concerto.
