ST. ALBANS--The Franklin County Humane Society hosts its 5th annual Chocolate by the Pound & Silent Jewelry Auction at the Saint Albans Historical Museum on Saturday from 2 - 5 p.m. Fiddleheads will play live music through the afternoon. Bid on donated bling! ON STAGE LIVE
The popular all-you-can-indulge-in chocolate extravaganza costs $15 in advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds benefit the adoptable animals at FCHS.

ST. ALBANS--Saint Albans Society for the Performing Arts presents When Irish Eyes Are Smiling featuring Bella Voce Women's Chorus of Vermont in City Hall Auditorium on Saturday at 8 p.m. The evening promises to bring a "touch of the Irish" out in all of us!
The festive program of songs from the Emerald Isle will feature folk songs arranged for women's voices, piano, and flute from Ireland, England, and the U.S. The 15-voice ensemble, Cantiamo, will perform a capella selections.
Bella Voce is a group of 40 women committed to promoting choral music of quality through performances of high artistic value. The members serve as role models to women singers of all ages and promote the value of singing as a life long avocation.

BURLINGTON--The Vermont Association of Jazz Educators presents the 20th annual VtAJE Jazz Day at the Flynn on Tuesday. More than 600 student jazz musicians will give performances all day on the MainStage and in FlynnSpace. An evening concert with student groups and the Vermont Jazz Ensemble takes place on the MainStage at 7 pm.
The day includes 30 minute performances, adjudication of each group's performance by three jazz teachers, short clinic, an afternoon workshop on jazz improv and performance, and the evening concert

CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT: St. Albans Free Library screens Forbidden Planet this evening at 6 p.m. The 1956 sci-fi classic stars Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Leslie Neilsen and Robby the Robot. The evening includes a newsreel, a preview of next month's movie, and a cartoon.
Admission is free, along with popcorn and a beverage.
The Franklin County Easter tradition is moving to the Enosburg Falls Middle and High School Auditorium. The Passion play will be in April GREATEST STORY NEEDS YOU TO TELL IT
The Greatest Story Ever Told producer Lyle Willey invites actors, chorus members, dancers, and behind-the-scenes folks including set builders and costume makers, stage hands and ticket sellers, and more to help make the performances a reality. It's a big production that needs a lot of hands. And feet. And smiles.
Pastor Willey says the production "takes as little toll as possible on people's free time." Rehearsals for the chorus begin Sunday, March 13, and continue each Sunday through April 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church. Rehearsals and blocking for the stage begin the week of April 4

The Vermont Youth Orchestra invites students now learning to play a stringed instrument to register for Presto, the VYO ensemble program for beginning string players conducted by Asiat Ali. Presto begins this Saturday and meets on subsequent Saturday mornings through April 9 at Elley-Long Music Center at Saint Michael’s College. It is open to string players who can read C, D, A, and G major scales and are learning the F major scale. VYO NEWS
It is also time to register for Music Day Camp, held in June at Elley-Long. The Camp develops musical skills by making music in both large and small ensembles, daily classes, and individual lessons. It is open to Winds, Brass, Percussion entering grades 6 - 10 in Fall of 2011 and Strings entering grades 4 - 9
