The BFA Performing Arts Center presents the community driven Floodapalooza Benefit concert on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. Carol Ann Jones and the Superchargers, Mellow Yellow, and the Nobby Reed Project headline the concert and there will be BFA student performances. WOKO's Jamey Magowan will host. FLOODAPALOOZA
"Come to the afterglow after the show at Chow!Bella to meet all the performers and party," Ms. Jones said. A percentage of the proceeds from the afterglow will be donated as well.
Ms. Jones and the Superchargers have a fresh take on rockabilly, country, rock & roll, bluegrass, and contemporary music. Her second album, Hope, brings life stories, full of hope, from a New England storyteller with everything from Passion Ain't In Fashion to supper at the Chelsea Royal Diner. The regional band has nationally known performers: Andre Maquera on lead-guitar and backing vocals; Gary "Spud" Spaulding on drums and percussion; Thom Carvey on bass and sax; Will Patton on bass, steel guitar and mandolin; and Ms. Jones on lead vocal and acoustic guitar.
The Burlington-based Mellow Yellow pays tribute to the psychedelic era with authentic renditions of music by The Beatles, Tommy James, The Monkees, the Moody Blues, The Supremes, and many more. They fill the stage with live music, outrageous costumes and a stunning multi-media video light show, just as the original bands did in the 60s. And don't forget the pair of Go Go dancers, liquid light shows, and pop-art set pieces. The band includes Brad Daddy-O (David Cooper), vocals, Mellowyellowtron; Kenny Diggit (Ken French), guitars, keyboards, vocals; Flip Funk (Brad Sourdiffe), bass; Dusty Love (Linda Bassick), vocals, acoustic and electric guitars; Franco Sunshine (Frank Zammiello), 1965 Slingerland Red Sparkle drums.
Vermont's premiere blues trio, the Nobby Reed Project plays original music in the soul-shakin'-electric Texas and Chicago blues styles with a Vermont touch. The band includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals.
Blues Revue Magazine called his first solo CD, Guitar On My Back, one of the top ten CDs listened to in the office. His music has become stronger and more interesting since with introspective lyrics and vocals and guitar work that can shake the world. His latest album, the two-CD An Evening with NRP, was recorded live.
The concert will benefit the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund and bring long-term help to those affected by Vermont's disastrous Spring and Irene-caused flooding this year. Carmel Quinn from the Disaster Relief Fund will briefly describe how the fund works. Floodapalooza's lead organizer is April Pettengill of Georgia, with principal volunteers Michelle Paya and Carol Jones plus a community turnout and you.
There will also be a Silent Auction, Bake Sale and 50/50 raffle.

ST. ALBANS--Vermont artist Corliss Blakely will bring her iPad paintings to life at the Village Frame Shoppe and Gallery exhibit, iArt ART SHOW, with a demonstration on Saturday from 11 - 1 p.m. at the store on Main Street. Canvas giclees and matted prints will be available for sale. ART ON THE WALLS

The iArt Art Show continues through November 12.
ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on artist and illustrator Jean Cannon, potter Barbara Colgrove, painter Sharon Fiske, photographer Charlotte Rosshandler, and whimsical papier mache sculptor Becky Wright.
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments tonight from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of November.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The Village Frame Shoppe is located within the coop as a resident framer. The Blue Crayon, a small private studio, is available there for individual or small group lessons. The gallery, located at 349 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Photographer Emily Horton Dunsmore this month. Ms. Dunsmore's images of nature include the Firefly Courtships.
Another art wall at the hospital features Jessica Williams this month. Ms. William uses acrylics to create design-like works of bright and colorful flowers.
The show continues through the end of November. The main gallery, located "around the corner" from patient registration near the hospital main entrance, is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
WILLISTON--The Williston Families as Partners Fall Craft Show features St. Albans artist Karen Day-Vath at the Williston Central School this weekend, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ms. Vath will have art work, hand painted slates, note cards, seasonal and year-round art plaques, mini canvas and frames, and more. "Something for everyone and within your holiday budget", she said
WEST BERKSHIRE--New Life Christian Church presents the Celebrate Hope Concert featuring Tedd Fish on Saturday at 7 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
Mr. Fish's music ministry is a blend of gospel songs from the past and the present with life stories, music, and humor. He has traveled extensively around New England and beyond.

FRANKLIN COUNTY ONLINE--Local libraries have library day passes for parks and other sites available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. The ECHO Pass offers $4 per person admission to the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. A 2011 State Parks Pass admits one vehicle holding up to eight people free to any Vermont State Park for one day. The 2011 Vermont State Historic Sites Pass likewise gives entry to the Vermont State Historic Sites for one family or group of up to 8 people for one day. FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF
