Fairfax Community Theater Company presents Flavors of Love: A Celebration of Romance, in word, song, and dessert in the Westford Brick Meeting House on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday, at 3 p.m. LOVE ON THE PLATE
The romantic songs are drawn from Broadway shows and the delectable desserts from chocolate. The company will sing love songs from Carousel, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, and other shows.

ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center has two galleries which host a diverse group of artists and photographers every month. It is the longest running rotating art exhibit in Franklin County. In 2011, the hospital walls hosted painters Ann Bissonnette, Jessica Scanlon Corliss, Maurie Harrington and Susan Larkin, Nancy Jacobus, Lorraine Manley, Karen Day Vath, Jessica Williams, and work from CarePartners plus photographers Leslie Beyor, Emily Horton Dunsmore, David Juaire, and Liesl Ulrich-Verderber. It is a new year for the art walls; the hospital's new volunteer coordinator Katherine Winchester needs our help.
NMC has over 100 active volunteers who share their time and talents to enhance the patient experience. Those volunteers together put in about 13,000 hours throughout the buildings in an average year, from visitor assistance to hanging beautiful art.
"I'd love it if artists who are new to us as well as our friends who have displayed here before would call me," Ms. Winchester said. She wants to create a new monthly schedule as well as a list of new artists who would like to participate.
Hanging around the hospital has a triple benefit. Art on the nearby walls improves the patient experience. The works gladdens the visitors and staff who pass the displays. And artists who exhibit do sell more particularly since hospital visitors are often non-traditional consumers. Those walls get hundreds of "eyeballs" each month.

COLCHESTER--Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival presents the Old City String Quartet in concert with Soovin Kim and Romie de Guise-Langlois in a Winter Encore at the Elley-Long Music Center at Saint Michael's College on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
LCCMF will also present the Winter Encore at the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium at SUNY Plattsburg tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.

COHASSET, MA--Party with the Infractions at a benefit for the South Shore Art Center at Atlantica on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The event includes an art auction, gift certificates, a diamond earring raffle, and music ranging from horn-driven funk to contemporary Ska and Swing.

BURLINGTON--The UVM Old Time Music Club hosts a Shape Note Sing in Ira Allen Chapel at UVM every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Mason Gohl holds pitching/leading/sight-reading lessons before the Sing at 6 p.m. Check for occasional changes in time, date and location. Email for more info.

COLCHESTER--The Vermont Youth Orchestra will hold Master Classes and Workshops at the Elley-Long Music Center on Saturday with VYO alumnus Soovin Kim and with clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois. CALL FOR MUSICIANS
Mr. Kim is Artistic Director of the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival. He is a frequent concert soloist and appears as a member of the piano quartet MIK. He plays the 1709 ex-Kempner Stradivarius violin, on loan. His String Workshop at 10-11:30 a.m. will focus on bowing techniques. It is free and open to string players, teachers, and parents.
Ms. de Guise-Langlois is Adjunct Professor of Clarinet and Concert Artist at the Kean University Conservatory of Music. Her master class will run from noon -1:30 pm and is also free and open to woodwind players, teachers and parents. Any clarinetist interested in playing in the master class should call Anne Decker (802.655.5030) or email by tomorrow.
60 years of the Lowe. Miami-Dade's oldest art museum celebrates a milestone this week; the Lowe Art Museum opened its doors on February 4, 1952 as the Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery. The museum on the campus of the University of Miami has a boutique but broad collection. Their current exhibit features 137 rarely seen works from an 18,000-piece permanent collection.
