ENOSBURG FALLS--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls opens the 2012 Season with two one act comedies, The Godmother and Queen of the Silent Scream, tomorrow, Friday the Thirteenth, at 7 p.m. THE GODMOTHER SCREAMS?
The Richford Jr. Sr. High School and Enosburg Falls High School faculty presentations each feature a large cast of teachers. Directed by Glenda Cresto, the Godmother stars Sue Fogel, Allison Farber, Annette Goyne, Andrew Hathaway, Cassandra Kivela, Kyle Kramer, Sonny Milano, Pat Murphy, and David Perrigo. Silent Scream features Chris Brigham, Nicola Cribb, Byron Fletcher, Levi Fuller, Steve Jette, Emily Leute, Mike McRaith, Peter O'Connell, Patrick O'Donnell, and James Ouilette, and is directed by Linda Collins.
Student bands will open the night and play at intermission.
Admission is just $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets are available from Chris Brigham at EFHS and Doreen Clark at RHS and at the door on the night of the performance.
ST. ALBANS--The annual Franklin County-wide Student Art Show continues at the Collins Perley Sports & Fitness Center through April 15. Art work from Franklin County students in grades K-12 is on display. ART ON THE WALLS
BURLINGTON--Fiddleheads perform at A Festival of Cultures at the Davis Center at UVM on Saturday at 12 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
The Sara Holbrook Center's seventh annual Festival is an international exhibition with music and dance performances in colorful traditional costumes, multi-cultural vendors, demonstrations and exhibits for kids and adults, foods from around the globe, and a silent auction of donated goods and services. A new round of Vermont Cultural Data Project in-person orientations takes place this week. The Vermont CDP orientations save time and help get the most out of the CDP tools. CULTURAL DATA PROJECT
The New User Orientation is for refreshers on data entry as well as for organizations new to the CDP. The hands on project demonstrates completing a Data Profile, applying to participating grant makers, and generating reports. The Reports Orientation is best for an organization that has already submitted at least one CDP Data Profile. This session showcases the free trend and comparison reports -- including easy annual reports -- available through the CDP.
Burlington City Arts, Vermont Community Foundation in Middlebury, and the Bennington Museum host the in-person sessions but the CDP offers regular, monthly webinars to all participating organizations. 90-minute CDP Reports Orientations webinars on the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. New User Orientations take place first Wednesday of each month, also at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--This week (April 8 - 15) is National Library Week. All the libraries in Franklin County offer a portal to the new and exciting world. They have free access to books and computers, help with your homework and with resumes and job searches, accurate information about finance and geography and more. The Swanton Free Public Library has Raylan, the new novel by Elmore Leonard, on the shelves. If you watch Justified on FX, Mr. Leonard brings back U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, the hero of Pronto," "Riding the Rap, and the hit FX series.
The VYOA online auction closes Sunday. This fundraiser has an auction catalog with merchandise, vacation rentals, dining out, art, useful services, performance tickets, music lessons, jewelry, unique experiences, and much more. New items include a pair of VT Philharmonic Season Tickets, a VYO chamber group in-home concert, and a hand crafted leather high back butterfly chair. The VYO Presto Spring Concert will take place at the Elley Long on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Presto is the orchestra's youngest string ensemble; the program consists of classical selections and folk tunes, conducted by Asiat Ali. The concert is free and open to the public. Email for more info.
