CREATIVE ECONOMY

The Arts & Economic Prosperity calculator is a free, simple, online tool from Americans for the Arts. It gives arts organizations a quick-and-dirty way to estimate their economic impact on the local economy.
The analysis requires just a few data points -- the area population, the organization's total expenses, and the total attendance for all events -- to estimate the jobs supported plus local and state government revenues driven by the expenditures made by arts organizations and our audiences. It can work for a single event or for all the groups combined in Franklin County.
The results are based on averages from real economic impact studies in communities with similar populations but they are estimates. The best way to use them is as a first pass to determine that we should conduct actual economic impact studies.

Frank Barnes of 8084 now publishes THINK!Vermont, an online journal "where education and technology meet communication, community, and common sense." The news organ has headlines and stories on education, technology, the world, politics, and arts & entertainment.
Mr. Barnes' host, Paper.li, is a news aggregator called a "content curation service" that lets people (rather than computers) choose stories on topics they like as well as to deliver original content as part of the news stream.
