Pleasant Valley Autumn is an oil painting, 24 x 30 inches, and is available for sale at the Village Frame Shoppe in St. Albans."I have started a line of 'Cheap Art' on my website in the spirit of the Bread & Puppet Theater Cheap Art Manifesto which promoted the idea of art being affordable and available for everyone," she said. "I liked that concept and wanted to offer art that anyone could afford." Prices range from $10 - $25 for small, original oils. "Why shouldn't art be something you can put a thumbtack through and hang on your wall? There should be room for art in every price range."
"I feel very fortunate to live in Vermont which offers endless possibilities for the landscape artist," Ms. Bonneau said. She paints mostly outside in "what's called 'plein air' because I can more directly observe nature. I love painting all the seasons, especially fall and winter and find inspiration in many ways. Sometimes an idea for a painting comes from seeing an old barn in the morning light, trees in a snowstorm, or a certain light in the sky that colors the whole landscape. I try and capture that one thing about the scene which first caught my eye and how it made me feel."
She also has a new "Painting of the Month" feature on Facebook. At the beginning of each month she posts a painting on that site at about half price to encourage sales. "Last month I sold a painting within an hour of it going up on FB!" she said. At the end of the month, the price returns to normal.
"I don't do photographic paintings," she said. "I like to tell a story on the canvas." Her painting style is described as impressionistic which that doesn't surprise her. "Some of my favorite artists include Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh."
Ms. Bonneau is also President of the Northern Vermont Artists' Association.

BOOK NEWS
On Vermont Time, a new title from writer Tim Stetson of Enosburg Falls, features many his own short pieces as well as the work of other Vermont authors, poets, photographers and artists including poetry by Lauren Young and Roderick Bates, drawings by Kraig McFadden, and the posthumous publication of prose by Lou Hill, and photos by Gardner Stetson and Harold Green. It's all done in a style Joe Citro calls "Neighborhood Writing."
The book makes a journey through life in the Green Mountains from the 1950s to the present day with an exploration of everyday life. The contributors share stories of their escapades as kids and even more as adults, all illustrated by the bird's-eye view of life in the midst of sugaring, making cheese and wines and local brew and more.

ART ON THE WALLS
The Cambridge Arts Council runs The Festival of The Arts in Jeffersonville and sponsors or co-sponsors the Smugglers' Notch Heritage Winterfest, 4th of July Celebration, Cambridge Book Club, Contra Dances, and a number of concerts and live events.
This season, the gallery is celebrating the 100th birthday of its founder, Alden Bryan. An exhibition of his works, painted over 60 years in 26 countries, is featured in the Main Gallery. The work of Mark Tougias, an artist friend of Alden's, is featured in the Middle Room. In the East Gallery, the 2013 - 2014 Legacy Collection features the works of artists whose work carries on the legacy of Alden and Mary Bryan.

LOWELL, MASS--The Lowell Celebrates Kerouac! Festival presents Michele Choiniere on Saturday at the Old Court Pub upstairs at 8 p.m.
Jack's Roots: From Canada to Lowell, features Michele Choiniere, Brent Mason, Bob Martin, David Amram, and poet Steve Dalachinsky. These Kerouac-influenced musicians from Vermont, Canada, Lowell, and New York will perform individually and jam together in exploring his cultural roots. There will be poems and readings mixed in from Kerouac's novels.
2013 is the 50th anniversary of Visions of Gerard and the 25th anniversary of the Kerouac Commemmorative. "Everybody goes home in October," Jack Kerouac wrote in On the Road.
WESTFORD--The Westford Music Series presents Carol Ann Jones and Will Patton in the United Church on the town green on Sunday at 4 p.m. They will have a warm up by Rik Palieri and Robert Wuagneux.
Admission is by $10 suggested donation.
