The Opera House at Enosburg Falls presents Waiting on a Dream on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. DON'T WAIT FOR IT
It's a different kind of musical. "We are pleased to present the U.S. premiere of a musical comedy that celebrates the hilarity and seemingly unrealistic events of the St. Albans Raid," Sarah Butson said.
There is a bungled bank raid, a destitute English lawyer, a tipsy judge, quack medicine, and a sharp-witted barmaid. It's 1864 in Enosburg and St. Albans this month and the American Civil War is in full swing. Canada allowed Montreal to host the Southern Confederates battling the Northern Union Army. That outpost allowed the raiders to attempt their daring daylight holdup of the St. Albans banks. The lawyer somehow entangles himself in both the Confederate raid and with a bright-eyed "Northern" woman.
Waiting has a great local cast. Robert Willey plays solicitor John Rumsey hawking his Chickasaw Revival Tonic and Holly Raiche the widowed Minnie Green. Look for John Bielicki, Rebecca Anne Bennett, Sam Caswell, Steve Comeau, Dan Diamond, Brent Garrow, Peter Garrow, Dinny Hawksworth, Sarah Mitiguy, Rosie Newton, Esperanza Orduno, Owen Pelkey, Christianna Raiche, and Tim Stetson singing Josiah Clark. Julie Linstedt, Grace Kelley, and Sussie Raiche are the chorus. Tonya Caswell is Stage Manager and Sharon and Pat Evans share the role of Music Director/accompanist.

Prepare to live and die by the power of disco as Twiggs presents the Fairfax Community Theater Company production, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens. The show opens Saturday at 8 p.m. and runs this weekend plus and October 16-19. GET SPACED OUT
The award winning murder-mystery-musical is set in a futuristic cabaret bar where "the music is loud, the characters are brazen and the atmosphere is hot." There is romance, camp, campy romance, and outer-space sex-ploration.
The cast includes Drew Briggs as Booby, Frank Cossaboom as Sammy Sax, Meg Cossaboom as Jubilee Climax, Lisa Judge as Chesty Prospects and Shirley Tri-star, Bob Martin as Saucy Jack, Johnnie Mclaughlin as Mitch Maypole, Aaron Reil as Dr. Von Whackoff, Rebecca Reil as Bunny Lingus, and Heather Wilson as Anna Labia and Vulva Savannah.

ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls hosts auditions for A Christmas Story on Wednesday, October 15, at 6 p.m. CALL FOR THESPIANS
The show will be Jean Shepherd's seminal Christmas classic that includes the story of the famed Red Ryder BB Gun. The show will be performed December 19-20 at the Opera House.

ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Make A Wish Foundation art this month. Area children painted these Make A Wish images this summer. It is not for sale. ART ON THE WALLS
"The Wish Art Project is a way the kids can paint their wishes so they can close the loop and reflect," Allison Mills at Make A Wish said. "We have 10 paintings there now." One is meeting Minnie Mouse, visiting Sidney Australia, some water slides, and more. The kids' stories are each on the wall at the hospital.
The show continues through the end of October.
HYDE PARK--The Hyde Park Opera House reprises Randy Smith & His Band of Merry Men on Friday at 8 p.m. There will be a Meet and Greet with the band at 7:30 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
The acoustic-unplugged evening will feature a collection from Mr. Smith's solo work as well as some 8084 favorites. The band of Merry Men include fellow 8084 mates Gary Spaulding, drums, and Roy Brown, bass and vocals, plus as Hall of Fame fiddler Scott Campbell and Rich Abel on guitar.
A special guest, St. Albans singer-songwriter Troy Millette, will open the show.

STOWE--Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center presents the Will Patton Ensemble in concert on Saturday at 8 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity to hear the Quintet performing new tunes from the upcoming CD," Mr. Patton said. The five combine jazz/choro mandolin with symphony violin, bluegrass and hot swing, a bluesy string bass, some jazz/fusion guitar, and a folky drummer: Mr. Patton on mando; Steve Blair, guitar; Skeeter Camera, percussion, David Gusakov, violin; and Clyde Stats, bass.

PLATTSBURGH--Rocktober continues as Olive Ridley's presents Justice with Scott Belisle on bass and backup vocals; Todd Dunn, lead and rhythm guitar; Gary Greeno, lead vocals; Mike Stella, drums; and Scott Guptill, rhythm guitar and backup vocals Saturday evening at 10 p.m.
PLAN AHEAD--Cardiac Capers 2014 begins on Wednesday, October 22 and will have a four performance run through Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. each night.
The benefit is written, produced, directed, and performed entirely by local talent.
Admission is $10 for bargain night Wednesday and $12 for the rest of the run. Tickets are available now at the hospital in the Auxiliary Gift Shop as well as at Hannafords St. Albans, Food City, Swanton Rexall and the St. Albans Free Library.
