ENOSBURG--Spring Cleaning comes but once a year at the Opera House. This year the House needs friends and volunteers on Saturday at 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. IT'S SPRING, RIGHT?
TODAY ON STAGE LIVE
MORRISVILLE--River Arts presents Francesca Blanchard at the River Arts Center this evening at 7 p.m.
Ms. Blanchard's music has deeply intimate vocals. "My music comes not from a need to say something, but rather from a need to express through sound," she writes. She recorded her first full-length album of original songs -- six in English and six in French. She has raised over $25,000 on Indiegogo for its release this Fall.

FRIDAY and SATURDAY
ST. ALBANS--The Twiggs Comedy For A Cause series continues on the Main Stage Friday evening at 7 p.m. The evening will raise money to support FNWSU Crossroads After School Program.
Admission is $15. There are just 75 seats available at the restaurant. Email for tickets or ask any Crossroads Coordinator. Make dinner reservations prior to the show since only drinks, appetizers, and desserts will be served during the show.
Next up, Twiggs also presents Coon Hill John tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. and Almost Nowhere in the Dining Room on Saturday at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY
ENOSBURG--Eats of Enosburg restaurant has an evening of live music by the Missisquoi River Band. There will be seatings at 6 and 8 p.m. only. The meal is changing to their regular dinner menu which encourages conversation and entertainment. Breakfast continues to be served all day.

ESSEX JUNCTION--ABC Cafe and Pub presents the Bluerock Boys on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The band plays "vintage eclectic" and covers from the Tennessee Waltz to Beck's Where it's At with the music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, and James Brown along the way. The quartet has Cliff Crosby, guitar, harmonica, and vocals; Ted Crosby, tenor saxophone and vocals; Sabina Perkins, vocals and percussion; and Eric Bushey, guitar, tenor banjo, and vocals.
EAST FAIRFIELD--The Fairfield Community Center presents Nothing Like Dreaming in the April monthly movie night on Saturday at 7 p.m. FILM
The 2004 film about a troubled fire artist and a teenage girl in rural Vermont stars Morgan Bicknell in her movie debut and storyteller George Woodard. Other familiar faces in the cast include Rachel Bissex and Rusty De Wees.

RUTLAND--Perhaps the day after Income Tax Day, you just want to crawl into a book. GETTING TO THE STORY
The League of Vermont Writers' program this month is Find Your Story, Find Your Voice: Writing Behind the Script; Real Life Writing; and How Stories Find You. The program features Joanna Tebbs Young, Cheryl Young, and Ben Hewitt. It will be held in the Franklin Howe Conference Center on Saturday.
Ms. Tebbs is both a writer and writing coach. She writes weekly columns for the Rutland Reader and Rutland Herald. Her session, Find Your Story, Find Your Voice will explore writing from a personal truth that resonates with readers. She will share from the back office part of writing a memoir and the skills she uses in everyday life.
Mr. Hewitt lives on a small-scale, diversified hill farm that includes pigs, sheep, chickens, copious gardens, an orchard, and a pick-your-own blueberry patch in northern Vermont. His five books include unusual parenting, "unschooling," and his newest, The Nourishing Homestead: One Back-to-the-Land Family's Plan For Cultivating Soil, Skills, and Spirit. His Real Life Writing session will explore the unrules and challenges of good writing.
Ms. Young is a writer, publisher, book coach, educator, producer, and teacher. She has written a children's book about a Woman Airforce Service Pilot and an oral history of Elizabeth Wall Strohfus. Her session, How Stories Find You will explore the expected and unexpected insprations (hers include being hit over the head from a falling book).

ENOSBURG--What Should I Read Next? FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF
Library Director Maria Harris at the Enosburgh Public Library recommends A Field Guide to Now: Notes on Mindfulness and Life in the Present Tense by Vermont writer Christina Rosalie. The collection of short essays show how to live in the moment with health, children, the world, and more, complete with field notes. The book also has full-color mixed media images.
FAIRFAX--The Fairfax Community Library has two workshops this week. In Computers and Safety, BFA's IT expert, Jason Smith offers an informative session about how to protect your info online. Saturday at 10 a.m. Then on Tuesday, financial consultant JoAnn Thibault offers a financial planning seminar about saving for the future: Put Your Money Where Your Dreams Are on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

FAIRFIELD--The Traveling Storyteller is coming to Bent Northrop Memorial Library to perform The Little Red Hen on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The interactive comedy of errors has the little red hen sharing her house with a dog, a cat, a rabbit and a mouse but she does all of the housework. The show will tap the imagination of children of all ages.
SHELDON--Plan Ahead: The Sheldon Public Library has Rick Norcross and special guest, author Stephen Payne, on April 28.
The Book Discussion group is reading Dr. Payne's Riding my Guitar: the Rick Norcross Story and invites the public to this special event. A limited number of copies are available at the library and as a Kindle edition on Amazon.
ST. ALBANS--The Classic Readers Book Group meets at the St. Albans Free Library on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. for The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. New members are always welcome to this group that reads the classics. A limited number of books is available at the circulation desk downstairs.
