     Franklin County's arts and music gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, "show-and-tell" and occasional workshops. There are also booked and acoustic Open Mic Nights that feature music, readings, and more from the best new artists in Vermont.

      June is National Dairy Month!
      The Enosburg Falls Lions club celebrates 59 years of Vermont Dairy Festivals this weekend with Supercharged entertainment and magical family activities. Most of the music and entertainment is on three stages around Lincoln Park and includes a new feature, Local Talent at its Best to introduce some new and not so new performers from Franklin County. All the outdoor entertainment is free.
      The Dairy Festival begins today and continues through Sunday in downtown Enosburg Falls.
      The Mooooving Parade starts Saturday at 10:30. With marching bands and mobile mooving murals, it is one of Vermont's largest parades.
      All that milk includes some art. The Masonic Hall adjacent to the park hosts the Arts and Crafts show starting Saturday at 9 a.m.

THURSDAY--The Vermont Dairy Festival Scholarship Pageant is this evening at 7 p.m. in the Opera House at Enosburg Falls highlights the scholastic achievements, talents, and enthusiasm of college-bound high school senior girls in Franklin County. The competition includes poise and appearance, stage interviews, and youth fitness.
      The Enosburg Lions offer scholarship prizes ranging from $125 to $750.
      Admission is $8. Tickets will be available at the door.

FRIDAY--Franklin County's own singer/songwriter Rosie Newton, Local Talent at its Best, kicks off the free entertainment. Friday, 6 p.m. On the Got Milk Stage.
      Boozehounds anchors Friday night. The local Rock and Roll favorite. 7 p.m. on the Band Stand.

SATURDAY--The Parade begins at 10:30.
      Saturday's music starts off with Troy Millette and Bethany Conner, Local Talent at its Best, on the Peoples Trust Band Stand at noon.
      Tom Walsh will tell On the Farm Stories and Song at the Petting Zoo Stage at 2 and 4 p.m.
      Ventriloquist Mark Thompson will throw his voice onto the Got Milk Stage at 2 and 6 p.m.
      Movin’ On brings country music to the Band Stand at 3 p.m.
      Magic happens when Joey the Clown mounts the Got Milk Stage at 5 p.m.
      Dark Horse plays country music and southern rock right on the Band Stand from 7  p.m. right through the fireworks.
      The Fireworks will shoot over the mighty Missisquoi at 9:30 p.m.

SUNDAY--Chasing 440 opens the Sunday music with bluegrass on the Got Milk Stage at 11 a.m.
      Keeghan Nolan takes over the Band Stand at 1 pm
      Chasin' Crazy comes to the Band Stand at 2 p.m.
      The Cow Plop Contest which has greener grass starts around 4 p.m. On the street.

     The men and women of the Enosburg Lions volunteer their time to conduct service projects and raise funds for the local community. They contribute to senior citizens' programs, area school projects, community health services, the Enosburg public library, family assistance and drug/alcohol programs, fire and ambulance services, other non-profit organizations, scholarships, as well as to the Lions International sight and hearing programs. The Vermont Dairy Festival is the Enosburg Lions' primary source of funding for these programs with thousands of man-hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to the community.
      The Vermont Dairy Festival midway opens at 6 p.m. this evening. Entertainment on the bandstand starts Friday evening at 6 p.m. and the weekend activities begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in downtown Enosburg Falls. Admission to the grounds is free and most events are also free.

ART ON THE WALLS

ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts photographer Leif Tillotson in a solo show this month. Mr. Tillotson is exhibiting the scenery of Vermont.
      Mr. Tillotson was born in Bakersfield and grew up working on dairy farms. After college, he spent 12 years in teaching before falling in love with photography. He has taken photos of people, landscapes, and motorsports since 1995. He now works in Restaurant and Catering Services at NMC.
      The show continues through the end of June.


ENOSBURG FALLS--To avoid conflicting with Dairy Day events, there will be no Artist In Residence Gallery reception for June. The next event will be July 5
      Owned and operated by the artists and sponsors, the gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus the first Sunday of each month, noon to 5 p.m. Click here for more info.


ON STAGE LIVE

BURLINGTON--The 32nd annual Discover Jazz Festival continues through June 14 with more than 100 well known national and Vermont touring artists on stage at the Flynn, up and down the Marketplace, and in venues around the City.
      Leunigs Bistro hosts what Will Patton says "Might be our favorite gig of the year," with the full Ensemble on Saturday, at 5 p.m. and again on Sunday with Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats at 4 p.m. The Festival also features Dayve Huckett, Jenni Johnson & The Jazz Junketeers, and many more.
      The concurrent Arts Field Day will host an Instrument Petting Zoo in the Integrated Arts Academy at H.O. Wheeler School, starting Friday at 10:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.

Thursday
ST. ALBANS--The One Fed Summer Concert Series begins the new summer season with The Revolvers this evening at 7 p.m.
      The summer concert series has performers under the tents every Thursday, rain or shine.


ST. ALBANS--This week, Twiggs presents Coon Hill John tonight at 7 p.m., Vern Colburn in the Dining Room on Friday at 5:30 p.m., and Bob Young in the Window on Saturday at 7 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m. Vermont's own blues trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals.

Friday
JERICHO--The Jericho Cafe and Tavern presents Carol Ann Jones with Will Patton on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday
WILLISTON--The Aphasia Choir presents its second annual concert at the Living Hope Christian Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. They will sing a variety of popular songs from the 20s to the 70s.
      The group comprises 16 local stroke survivors who have expressive aphasia (a difficulty talking or using language) and their caregivers. Because music is mediated by the undamaged hemisphere of the brains of people with aphasia, they can usually sing and are often fluent while singing even if they have severe difficulty speaking. "Our group grew this year," Karen McFeeters said. They have already outgrown UVM's Davis Auditorium where they held the 2014 concert.
      This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the performance.


ST. ALBANS--The 14th Star Brewery Live Music Series presents Vermont's favorite blues band, the Nobby Reed Project, on Saturday at 6 p.m.

PLATTSBURGH--Justice will be getting Naked at the Turtle grants some on Saturday at 10 p.m. with Gary Greeno, lead vocals; Scott Belisle on bass and backup vocals; Rod Bushey, lead guitar; Mike Stella, drums; and Scott Guptill, rhythm guitar and backup vocals.
      The band kicks off a month of "on the water gigs" at the Plattsburgh hotspot but they will be there only twice this summer.
