SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council hosts Artists Uncorked with Jon Young, a Paint n' Sip style event to create artwork with local artist Jon Young, at the My-T-Fine Restaurant this evening at 6 p.m. Pre-registration is required. IN THE ARTS COUNCILS
The SAC is starting a MakerSpace in the Swanton Public library. The space will start small, but they have big plans. Sometimes referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, or fablabs, makerspaces are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. They often have 3D printers, software, electronics, craft and hardware supplies and tools, and more. Here are some excellent resources for anyone thinking about setting up a makerspace in their organization.
A Maker's Space is a vibrant community space but only because it is a crowd-driven project. Crowds needed.

Youth Art Show: SAC also plans a K-age 20 art show in April. Lead by Nicole Gadouas, it's the first ever for the arts council.
Swanton Arts Council hosts an Open Art Studio in the King's Daughters' Room of the Swanton Public Library on the first Tuesday of each month from 4-8 p.m. Bring your own supplies (including drop cloth) and plan to clean up after yourself. JERICHO--The Northern Vermont Artists Association exhibit at the Emile Gruppe Gallery opens today. There will be a reception on Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. ART ON THE WALLS
The Gruppe Gallery exhibits and sells the works of landscape artist Emile A. Gruppe and promotes New England artists through exhibition and sales. The gallery is located in a renovated 1860s English Sheep barn. The gallery is open 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Thursday - Sunday, or by appointment. Click here for more info.

Friday ON STAGE LIVE
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap presents Nightrain tomorrow evening at 9 p.m. Nightrain will take you on the wildest ride of high-energy rock with Eric Halbach, drums; Tom Dunn, bass; Taylor Arsenault, vocals; Andy Toussaint, guitar and keyboards; Brad Ravlin, guitar; are four friends who grew up together around St. Albans, then clicked musically.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents Dayve Huckett making guitar magic in the Dining Room tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. He has eight recordings to date and is working on his next project now. On Saturday solo singer/guitarist, Robert Young takes to the window at 7 p.m. to perform his favorites from artists such as The Band, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits and Tom Petty as well as some more recent material from Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers and Phil Phillips.
Twiggs offers Music to Dine By with relaxed music and the arts. They have three stages with live piano, violin, or light guitar many days of the week in the dining room, the Window, or the main stage. The Cabaret offers live performances by musicians, visual artists, poets, and more. They have regular performances by Abby Road, Sean Ashby, Sean Casey, Bobby Cee, Close to Nowhere, Vern Colburn, Dayve Huckett, Isaac and Dominic French, and Robert Young.

HIGHGATE--MVU hosts Pet's Love & Fashion Show in the Trahan Memorial Theater on Sunday at 2 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Franklin County Animal Rescue and for the MVUHS Performing Arts Musical.

MORRISVILLE--Moog's Place has "live music every night we're open, starting between eight and nine pm" with open mic night scheduled most Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.

FAIRFAX--The Fairfax Community Library Family Movie Night features Labyrinth this evening at 6 p.m. The 1986 cult classic stars David Bowie as the Goblin King. Admission is free and popcorn provided. The library says "you are welcome to bring your own comfy chair" which may be a thought born of experience.
Tech Help is available again on Saturday at 9-11 a.m. 30 minute sessions as well as drop-ins are available to ask any tech question or get help with a device from techie Josiah.
ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Public Library R&R Bookclub (Review and Recommendation) meets today at 6:30 p.m. Read whatever book you want and meet ready to share passions and preferences, and review and recommend titles for others to read or avoid.
SWANTON--The Swanton Free Public Library has the Owls of Vermont this morning at 10:30 a.m. and the Library Cafe tomorrow at 2 p.m.
The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum birds of prey program focuses on the raptor night shift. The adaptations that make owls the supreme hunters of the night is the focus with an exploration into the various species that call the Northeast home. They bring live owls, touchable artifacts, and interactive demonstrations.
Luca Agnani founded a studio in Macerata, Italy, in 2010, to create 2D and 3D animation. His 2013 video Van Gogh Shadow has had more than 500,000 views which led to British department stores chain John Lewis using it to inaugurate the new LG OLED TV and a showcase at the Van Gogh Museum.
