I'll be "off the grid" for my road trip for the next few weeks. ArtBits will continue but in a much abbreviated form. HIATUS
What we will have: We'll have some stories and interviews in a Blast from the Past as well as news and any events that arrive in our inbox before deadline.
What we won't have: New interviews or the normal level of research and reportage.
Check the Art Sites of the Week below to find links to the right stuff.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery usually hosts a different artist each month. The construction has made that difficult. ART ON THE WALLS
Structural steel was erected for the Medical Clinics Building -- that's the addition closest to the hospital's new main entrance. Meanwhile, the foundation footings and walls are being poured and backfilled for the Medical Office Building. The NMC Gift Gallery's temporary home at the Family Birth Center was closed two weeks ago and should reopen this week.
All the construction at NMC near the Art Wall means there will be no displays there again until December/January.
MILTON--The Milton Artists Guild will hold an Etsy Workshop in the Milton Town Office Community Room on Saturday at 1 p.m. IN THE ARTS COUNCILS
Annette Hansen of Make Life Cozy will show how to sell your arts on the popular site. The class will include a handout on how to photograph, list, sell and ship your handmade and vintage items as well as art and craft supplies as well as Q&A time.
The cost is $18 for Milton Artists Guild Members or $23 for non-members. Call 802.355.6583 or email to register.
Thursday-Saturday ON STAGE LIVE
ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls presents The Odd Couple (The Female Version) in a three-day run starting this evening and continuing through Saturday at 7 p.m. each evening.
Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon's hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls, Sylvie Mickey, and Renee Vera, over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers, Manolo and Jesus. But the hilarity remains the same.
Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Click here to purchase tickets.
Friday-Saturday ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents Chris & Erika on Friday and The Duo -- John Seiden and Neil Wright -- on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

Wednesday
ST. ALBANS--It's a Bargain!
The 2016 celebration of the Cardiac Capers musical variety show opens with bargain night at the BFA Performing Arts Center on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The run continues through Saturday, October 22. The biennial hospital auxiliary fund-raiser has singing, dancing, and other performances by docs, medical staff, community volunteers, as well as a few special performances. The biennial production is a fun raiser for the NMC Auxiliary.
Admission is $10 for bargain night Wednesday and $12 for the rest of the run. Tickets are available now at the hospital as well as at Food City, Georgia Market, Hannafords in St. Albans and Swanton, Steeple Market, and the St. Albans Free Library.

Young Tradition Vermont is experimenting with expanded Fiddleheads sessions for teens and younger players beyond just Burlington. Groups in different locations will focus on a common repertoire that they would then play together at various events. The group coordinates teachers for consistent learning from location to location. FIDDLEHEADS EXPERIMENT
They currently have three consecutive sessions in October, November and December with Becky Tracy in West Lebanon, and the ongoing sessions through February 2017 with Pascal Gemme in Burlington.
