HIATUS

      I'll be "off the grid" for my road trip for the next few weeks. ArtBits will continue but in a much abbreviated form. We'll continue to have the news and any events that arrive in our inbox before deadline.

HALLOWEEN IN THE PARK

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council's Halloween in the Park takes over the Swanton green on Saturday from 5:30 - 8 p.m.
      The Art Installation in the Swan Pond will be lead by Anita Michele Parah with the help of Nicole Gadouas and Joanne Parah Reiter.
      Trick or Treating begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Park and the Swanton Free Public Library. Sara Hayes will take costume photos in the Library.
      There are two movies as well. The kids' movie begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Library. Then, Swanee: Vengeance Takes Flight, the SAC Northwest Nightmare entry, reception starts at 7:30 and the movie premieres at 8 p.m.


FILM

SWANTON--Meet the watch the video and meet the cast and crew of Swanee: Vengeance Takes Flight in a stars' reception at 7:30 and world premiere at 8 p.m. in the Swanton Free Public Library.
      The SAC video entry for the Northwest Nightmares Film Festival has talented people in front of and behind the camera; Piper Buczkowski, Heather Buczkowski, Nicodemus Dashno, Brianna Forkey, Nicole Boutin-Forkey, Katie Foster, Nancy Callegari Fuller, Bernice Langlois Hall, Sara Hayes, Kathleen Hoffman, Kaina Jamil, Kim Kelley, Grace Kelley, Bridget LeClair, Jill LeClair, Evan Rose Marchant, Darakah Mathieu, Tamara Watkins Mathieu, Nicole Nappi, Liliauna Nappi-Thompson, Justin Nappi-Thompson, Anita Michele Parah, Joanne Parah Reiter, Scott Rheaume, Brian Savage, Marie Ledoux Speer, Cassidy Thurston, and, David A. Winchester.
      The reception and premiere is a chance to meet the stars of the show and celebrate the conclusion of the project.


ON STAGE LIVE

Thursday
SHELBURNE--Young Tradition Vermont presents an Archie Fisher House Concert in the Tree Wild Concert Series at the home of Alison and Joplin James this evening with supper at 6 p.m. and the music starting at 7.

Friday-Saturday ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents Kari Beth and Michael Albee on $4 Friday and Coon Hill John on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

SOUTH BURLINGTON--The Sugarhouse (the former Franny O's hot spot) will justify some Halloween Madness as Justice makes its first appearance at the new club. "Get your best costume and freaky friends," Scott Guptill said.
      South Burlington's new "home town bar and grill" serves lunch Monday-Friday until 3 p.m. and offers live music Friday nights and Karaoke on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.


Tuesday
SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Grounds hosts the Advance Music Singer/Songwriter Contest in the Showcase Lounge on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
      The 18th annual Contest draws seasoned musicians and those who have never performed in public for an eclectic and diverse event. It will showcase many musical and lyrical styles, textures, and tastes.
      Admission is free.

MORRISVILLE--Moog's Place has "live music every night we're open, starting between eight and nine pm" with open mic night scheduled most Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--TNT Comedy Thursdays have returned to Twiggs with local comedians. The performers are first timers and seasoned comedians. The next event is November 17.

CALL FOR THESPIANS

ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls will hold auditions for A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol at the House starting this evening at 6-8 p.m. and again on Sunday at 1-3 p.m. The Opera House's annual holiday play is directed by Kathleen Hoffman.


OCTOBER-NOVEMBER ART DEADLINES
