YOUNG TRADITION

Last spring, a delegation from Japan asked Young Tradition-Vermont to organize some cultural exchanges with teen musicians between Vermont and Japan. Mark Sustic was invited to travel to Japan this month to talk about setting up an exchange and to take a small group of high school Vermont-based musicians who could perform at an arts festival.
Five current members of the Young Tradition Touring Group leaves Burlington on Monday for a red-eye flight to Bejing, then Tokyo, then Tottori Prefecture, and back to Vermont the following week. They will visit high school music programs, perform for the Prefecture Governor, and perform with high school students from that region of Japan.
Mr. Sustic hopes the full Touring Group will be invited for a later visit, perhaps as the April 2019 tour. Email for more info.
