Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, observed annually to honor the 2,403 citizens who were killed in the surprise attack in 1941. CLICK HERE: ART SITE OF THE WEEK
Commemorative art allows either mourning or celebration. The Aviation Art Hangar is a commercial gallery with work of scenes before, during and after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Some include signatures of men who were there on the day of the attack.
ST. ALBANS--The Grind Cafe hosts a Family Paint and Sip on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ART FOR THE WALLS
All ages welcome to celebrate the holidays by painting two ornaments. Maybe one for you and one for a gift? $20 per person includes all supplies, one non-alcoholic drink, and a fresh in-house-made cookie.
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts a Holiday Party and Handmade Ornament Exchange on Saturday from 4 - 6:30 p.m. Make an ornament to swap or just visit with friends.

ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on Alburgh painter, sculptor, and carver Terry Rice, emotional clay potter Deborah Shell, folk artist Sally Tarr's penny rugs, and portrait and fine art photographer Wayne Tarr. ART ON THE WALLS
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments and a raffle today 4 - 7 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of December.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, newly reopened at 10 South Main Street, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. click here for more info.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts macro photographer and Milton Artist Guild member Trine Wilson this month. Much of Ms. Wilson's exhibit is from her garden in Westford.
The native Vermonter started her path in art making cards to mail to friends while traveling. She has a very noisy life as a busy restaurant manager and loves photography as her quiet, meditative time.
The show continues through the end of December.
ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Community Arts and First Step Dance host the Second Friday Dance Social in City Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. The dance will start with two 30-minute mini-lessons, the first in Cha Cha then a second in East Coast Swing. Open dancing continues from 8-10. DANCE
Admission is $15/adult for the lesson and dancing, $10/student (high school or college) for the lesson and dancing, or $10/person at 8 p.m. just for the dancing.
ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Community Arts hosts its monthly Community Arts Meeting in City Hall on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The gathering will discuss new and ongoing business, meet new people, and discuss any creative ideas that crop up. IN THE ARTS COUNCILS

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers blues night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Historical Museum presents the Carol Ann Jones Quartet Holiday Concert in Bliss Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30.
Ms. Jones will be joined by Will Patton, Gary Spaulding and Dono Schabner to ring in the season with beautiful music for the holidays. Audience members are encouraged to sing along. There will be a cash bar and desserts. Suitable for the entire family.
Admission is $15 per person. Tickets are available at and at the door. All proceeds benefit the St. Albans Museum.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents the acoustic trio AmerikanaBlue on Friday and Cooie & Skip's folk and blues classics and originals on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--Michael McCarthy hosts Open Mic at the Grind Cafe on Saturday starting at 3 p.m.
The event is open to musicians, stand up comedy, and poetry reading. This week will see the first half open to all and the second half to be part of a writer's workshop "for people with original stuff that they would like to be heard."
ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Co. presents the Shane Murley Band live in the Room on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Mr. Murley’s six-piece band brings a soulful and funky twist on classic Americana, country, and alternative rock.
Sunday
EAST FAIRFIELD--The Meeting House on the Green Song and Celebration comes to town on Saturday at 3 p.m.
There will be Christmas caroling, seasonal treats and beverages, and neighborly good cheer. It is free and open to the public.
Wednesday
SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground continues Northern Exposure with three new up-and-coming Vermont bands in the Showcase Lounge tonight at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
This event is all ages. Admission is $6.
