HIGHGATE--MVU Crossroads hosts A Paint & Sip on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Art teacher and Crossroads Co-Coordinator Ashley Bowen will lead participants in mug painting. DIY ART
The $25 per person (or two for $40) cost includes all supplies, a packet of hot chocolate to go with your painted mug, a cup of hot chocolate to drink while you paint, and a cookie or two. Tickets must be purchased in advance. All ages are welcome. Email or click here for tickets and more info.
ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on the Japanese woodcut prints of Marcia Blanco, metal sculptor Rebecca Nase Chomyn, potter Barbara Colgrove, and functional wood sculptor Shelby Jones. ART ON THE WALLS
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments and a raffle today 4 - 7 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of February.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, newly reopened at 10 South Main Street, is open winter hours, Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more info.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Marguerite Myers in her debut show this month. Ms. Myers is exhibiting watercolors and sketches.
She paints for her own personal fun and has never shown or sold before. She does give her work to family as gifts. Her son, Fred O'Neil, works at NMC. She is very excited to be doing this.
The show continues through the end of February.
SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council will hold a Strategic Planning Meeting at the Swanton Village Complex on Monday starting at 6 p.m. Click here for the agenda. IN THE SAC

ST. ALBANS--Celebrate everyone's favorite weather forecasting "rat" at Movie Night with a free screening of Groundhog Day at 14th Star Brewing Co. in the Room on Friday at 6:30 p.m. FILM
Bill Murray plays the arrogant Pittsburgh TV weatherman covering the annual event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Make it a Movie and Dinner Night; attendees are welcome to bring their own food to enjoy during the flick. Come early, claim your seat, and enjoy some movie/beer trivia. Free popcorn will be freshly popped for all who attend this all-ages show.

ST. ALBANS--The Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge and the Saint Albans Museum invite you to the second annual evening of Bird Tales in the Bliss Room on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Members of the local birding community will share their passion and entertain with tales from the fields and forests. It is a unique evening of storytelling at the Museum. Last year over 80 community members attended for the outdoors, the birds, the laughs, or just a good story.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Reservations are appreciated but not required. Email to let them know you are coming.

ST. ALBANS--Boom City presents February Fools at Twiggs on Fursday at 7:30 p.m.
The evening includes stand-ups by Stanley Leveille, Katie Gillespie, and Dave Anderson, plus a short form improv and jam by Boom City.
Next up, Twiggs presents The Duel on Friday and Vermont trio Third Shift featuring Colleen McLaughlin on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers the Nobby Reed Project for Blues Night tonight at 7 p.m. Coming up this week, the Phil Abair Band on Friday at 9 p.m. and Mackenzie & Missisquoi (Bob Mackenzie and Scott "Missisquoi Slim" Dubois) on Saturday at 5 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents the Tim Brick Band live on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Barre singer-songwriter brings original, soulful, rowdy country music to the taproom stage.

SWANTON--The Swanton Free Public Library hosts a Harry Potter Night on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. There will be potions, divinations, wands, chocolate frogs, owls, and more, including the Sorting Hat! FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF
