Bob Brodeur

TINY NEGATIVES YIELD BIG PICTURES

A few years ago, Bob Brodeur looked at all the old photographs stacked around his house and began selling them at craft shows and exhibits. What began as a lifelong love is now portrayed in his scenic Vermont landscapes.
"I had wondered how the public would accept my work," he said. "Everyone has been very positive."
Brodeur studied with Vermont Life photographer Dr. Henry Lampert at the Church Street Center. His photographs are golden warm and intimate. NWMC featured Brodeur as artist of the month and he will display in the upcoming photography exhibit at the Sugar Mill Co-op Gallery. He has recently completed a series of photocards for the Vermont Commissioner of Agriculture for this year's international conference. Photocards are the now-familiar notecards with a Vermont pastoral scene, covered bridge, or round barn.
Born, raised, and schooled in St Albans, Brodeur was graduated from Champlain College. After working in development engineering at IBM for 28 years, he retired in 1993. He now divides his time between photographic artistry, day trading of stocks, and exploring digital art and the Internet. He has been seen holding hands around town with wife Jo-Ann. Their daughter Melissa attends Trinity and their son Jean is a sophomore at BFA.
