      Stop in for live music and more at the Fairfax Music Sessions at the Foothills Bakery in Fairfax most Saturday afternoons at 1 p.m., at various restaurants around Franklin County throughout the week, at the Bayside in St Albans Town most Sunday afternoons, and the Cambridge CoffeeHouses at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
     These gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, "show-and-tell" and occasional workshops. The booked performances and acoustic Open Mike Nights feature music, readings, and more from the best new artists in Vermont.

SUMMER IS HERE!

      The summer music season officially begins tomorrow evening as Summer Music at Grace kicks off with the eighth appearance of the Annual Farewell Reunion Concert at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheldon at 7:30 p.m. Events for Tom presents the concert as an evening of traditional and original music, singing and dancing from Vermont, Appalachia, Scotland, Ireland and beyond.
      The 7th Annual Farewell Reunion lineup includes Michele and Fabe Choiniere, Matt Bean, Hannah Beth Crary, Becca Hanley, Mike McCarthy, Gerlisa Garrett, Katie Trautz, Keeghan Nolan, Roland and Gary Clark, Bread and Bones, Doug Perkins, Jim McGinniss and Clare Doyle, Frank Heyburn and Tom Hodgson, and Will Patton and Dono Schabner.
      A potluck begins at 6 p.m. with contributions from Foothills Bakery in Fairfax, Cosmic Bakery in St. Albans and you.
      The suggested donation of $10 per person will benefit the Tom Sustic Scholarship Fund. Click here for more info about Summer Music at Grace. ON STAGE LIVE

ST. ALBANS--John Cassel continues his Wednesday gig at Chow!Bella on June 3 at 6 p.m. A classically trained jazz pianist, his evening shows walk lightly across country, folk, pop, rock, and dinner music. He calls the latter the "kind of music you should talk over."

COLCHESTER--The Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra presents Masterpieces from the Romantic Era and More on Saturday at 7:30 pm at the Elley-Long Music Center at Saint Michael's College.
      The program features Toccata for Orchestra: City Lights, Country Sun, written by Vermont composer Jorge Martin for the fiftieth anniversary of the Philharmonic. Violinist Katherine Winterstein, Vermont Symphony Orchestra concertmaster, will join the orchestra to present Romance for Violin and Orchestra in F minor, Op. 11 by Antonin Dvorak and Romance for Violin and Orchestra in F major, Op. 50 by Ludwig von Beethoven. The orchestra will also present Symphony No. 1, Op. 68 in C minor by Johannes Brahms and Chorale from the Easter Cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach and arranged by Leopold Stokowski. Music Director Louis Kosma conducts.
      Proceeds from the concert will benefit both the Vermont Youth Orchestra and the Vermont Philharmonic.
      General Admission is $15 and $12. Student admission is $5. Tickets are available at www.flynntix.org or www.vermontphilharmonic.org and at the door.
      The concert will repeat Sunday in the St. Johnsbury School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--The Lincoln Inn begins the live music week with WCLX Blues Night with Summer Sounds favorites Shellhouse tonight at 7 p.m. Run for Cover appears Saturday at 9 p.m. and the Starline Rhythm Boys wrap up the week with Eagle Country night next Wednesday at 7 p.m.

      VYO Spring Concerts are available on Instant Encore. The April 16 VYO Chorus and Concert Chorale, "Life, Love and Destiny," is available as an album or by track at instantencore.com. The concert was recorded live at the Elley-Long Music Center.
      The May 3 VYO concert, "Choral Fireworks," features the first collaboration between the VYO and the VYO Chorus and can be found at instantencore.com. This concert was recorded live at the Flynn.
