FRANKLIN COUNTY GOES LIVE
ALL SUMMER
The Summer Sounds season features free live concerts on Sunday evenings in Town Parks around the county. The lineup typically includes a medley of bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, pop, and classic rock-n-roll performed by some of the best artists in their genres. Settle in on your own blanket or lawn chair and enjoy outdoor family music. Bring your own bug spray.
Besides the music, food is a big part of the fun of an outdoor concert. Local community groups host each event with special activities, family fun, bake sales, grilled hot dogs, and even ice cream socials to make every Sunday a great family holiday in the park.
"Free" concerts are expensive to stage. The host towns, local business sponsors, and the All Arts Council hire the bands, create the publicity, and set up the shows. Summer Sounds welcomes our sponsors of this popular series as well as the sponsoring Towns, and the hosts. Please remember to thank the hosts and patronize the sponsors.
Summer Sounds concerts are always in a Town park, always on Sunday evenings, always at 7 p.m., and always free. The concert sites over the years have included Lincoln Park in Enosburg Falls, the Baptist Building in Fairfax, the Town Hall lawn in Franklin, the Municipal Park and the Arena lawn in Highgate, Davis Park in Richford, the E. A. Loomis Memorial Band Shell in St Albans City, and the Bay Park in St Albans Town. The rain sites have been the Town Hall in Franklin; the Methodist Church, Highgate Elementary School, and the Highgate Arena in Highgate; the Congregational Church in St Albans; and the bath house in St Albans Bay Park.
