The Friends of the Opera House at Enosburg Falls host the Fall Fundraiser Saturday evening at 7 p.m. It's a chance to step back in time to the Prohibition Era when the only speakeasy in town is the Opera House with its hot music, hot appetizers, and hot "Martini Bar." Scandalous! Period dress is encouraged. SPEAKING EASY, SINGING ROUGH
Tammy Fletcher will supply the hot music.
There are neither blind pigs nor blind tigers in Enosburg and no one will hush you with the whispered words, "Speak easy, boys! Speak easy!" when the Sheriff is on the Town but you will want to listen to the music anyway.
Ms. Fletcher is best-known as Vermont's Soul Queen but she has enthralled audiences from the Apollo Theater in Harlem to the Gaiety Theater in Dublin because she sings. My, oh my does she sing. She has sung in Reykjavik and at Summer Sounds in Highgate. She has sold out the Flynn while fronting the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. She sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park. Deeply rooted in our American traditions, Ms. Fletcher sings gospel and rock, opera and country, and the blues. And she sings speakeasy.
The evening will include a silent auction and more.

The Saint Albans Society for the Performing Arts presents a local community theater production of Camelot: The Musical opening on Friday and running through Sunday in St. Albans City Hall this week. CAMELOTS
The gala opening night event tomorrow evening will donate the proceeds to the St. Albans Maple Leaf Special Olympics team. The gala will feature the Northern Vermont Ballet plus a reception with cash bar and light desserts provided by the Blue Acorn Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Showtime on Saturday is 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee begins at 2 p.m.
The story starts with a nervous King Arthur hiding in a tree before his arranged marriage to Guenevere. It sings the establishment of the the Round Table, Guenevere's love for Lancelot, and a world full of chivalry and jousting. Stephen Contompasis plays Arthur, Judy Contompasis as Guenevere, and Jeffrey Renaud as Lancelot.
The musical began under the direction of Moss Hart on Broadway in 1960 where it won four Tony Awards including Richard Burton as Best Actor; Julie Andrews was nominated for Best Actress. The original cast album was the country's best-selling LP for 60 weeks. Camelot had 873 performances on Broadway and ran until 1963. The musical, based on T. H. White's King Arthur legend from the novel The Once and Future King, was written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe.
Maryellen Vickery and the Ballet School of Vermont in St. Albans offers a range of classes starting with 3½-year-old tiny ballerinas up to adult classes.

ST. ALBANS--The Overtime Saloon presents the Nobby Reed Project on Friday at 9 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
Vermont's own power-blues man, Mr. Reed leads the Project in the soul-shakin'-electric Texas and Chicago blues styles with Eric Belrose, percussion; Ray Bushey, bass; and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals. There is no cover charge. Call 802.524.0357 or click here for more info.
JOHNSON--Johnson State College presents the first Bounty of the County Contest with a $1000 prize for best band in the Dibden Center for the Arts tomorrow evening at 7 p.m.
The best musicians in Lamoille County, under one roof for this one night only. The local musicians will perform in most styles and genres in this benefit for Events for Tom. Donations will be accepted. Email for more info.
BURLINGTON--Fiddleheads perform at the Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes at Oakledge Park on Saturday from 4 - 5 p.m. email for more info.

CAMBRIDGE--Boyden Winery presents the Nobby Reed Project on Sunday at 1 p.m.
BAKERSFIELD--The United Church of Bakersfield and East Fairfield presents the Southern Gospel Group Praise Incorporated at the United Church on the park in Bakersfield on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
The group has played for the National Street Rod Association, appeared at the Oklahoma state fairgrounds, and played Milwaukee, Pueblo, Colorado, Richmond, Virginia, Knoxville, Burlington, York, Pennsylvania, Tampa, Sacramento, and the nationals at Louisville Freedom Hall.
