Weird winter weather wells forth as Chow!Bella and The Fabulous Spiders have teamed up again with a delicious meal and great music from The X-Rays in a FUNdraiser to benefit Franklin County Court Diversion on Saturday. Appetizers and cocktails (cash bar) will begin at 6 p.m. with tunes during dinner, then dancing, a silent auction, and entertainment ongoing until 9 p.m. Seating is limited to 200. MARDI GRAS!
The party is a little later this year to get better weather.
"We have around $2,500 worth of donated items including framed photos by April Henderson, lots of gift certificates, several massages, a bike helmet, booster seat, flower bouquets, a handwoven rug, maple syrup, and much much more," Court Diversion Executive Director (and Spider) Pat Leboeuf said. "Everyone has a great time."
The X-Rays will bring the best of roots rock to Chow!Bella. With Joe Moore fronting on saxophones and vocals, Tom Freiheit, rhythm guitar, solos and vocals, Peter Riley on bass, and Chris Kutchukian on drums, they are one of Vermont’s tightest rock & roll bands. Expect to hear their own compositions as well as rock & roll, R&B, funk, reggae, swing, jazz standards, latin, blues, and even their own Irish reels.
"We will have a great band for dinner and dancing and the Spiders may be able to sing a few numbers," Ms. Leoeuf said.
The benefit includes Franklin County Court Diversion and the Teen Alcohol Safety Program.
Admission is $35 per person or $65 per couple. There are also a limited number of "Dancing and Auction Only" tickets available for $15 each or $25 per couple. Tickets are available at Chow!Bella or at Franklin County Court Diversion; a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, gallery introduces a Guest Artist, Nancy Stone of Willston. The book artist and watercolor and acrylic painter and teacher will share some of her hand-made books and creative painting techniques. She is a member of Northern Vermont Artists Association. The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments tonight from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of March.
"This is a special event and we hope you'll attend," Rebecca Anne Bennett said.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The Village Frame Shoppe is located within the coop as a resident framer. The Blue Crayon, a small private studio, is available there for individual or small group lessons. The gallery, located at 349 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Vermont landscape photographer David Juaire this month.
The Franklin County native was brought up on a dairy farm. He works with a medium format (film) camera and in digital photography. Vermont Life Magazine features his work in the magazine and calendars.
The show continues through the end of March.
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap at the Lincoln Inn offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m. Summer Sounds favorites the Phil Abair Band plays tomorrow at 9. ON STAGE LIVE

SWANTON--Holy Trinity Episcopal Church presents a Concert of Spirit-filled Songs on Sunday at 4 p.m. The program will include spirituals, liturgical classics, and contemporary works performed by the choir and area soloists. Rob Guerrina directs.
A reception will follow the concert in the Parish Hall.

MONTPELIER--The Vermont Legislature Farmer's Night series presents Michele Choiniere and Fabe Choiniere next Wednesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the House Chamber at the Vermont Statehouse.
Michele Choiniere was born into a musical St. Albans family. Her lyrics and music focus on nature, romance and social issues connected to being Franco-American. Ms. Choiniere began writing and composing her own music in 1995 and has performed to audiences throughout New England, Quebec and France. She has appeared at First Night Burlington, the American Folk Festival, the Champlain Valley Folk Festival, and more, and on the Smithsonian Folkways CD Mademoiselle Voulez-Vous Danser.

Visual artist Charlie Hunter of Bellows Falls was raised in Weathersfield Center in a house built by his great-great-great-grandfather. He has worked as a sign painter, poster designer, music manager, and music event promoter.
