Bay Day 2011 kicks off a day with lots more than fireworks in St. Albans Town Bay Park all day this Sunday. The 31st annual summer festival offers a full family day with the Great Race, lakefront games, sports, fair food, fireworks, and continuous live music, this year to celebrate Labor Day. This familiar Franklin County family festival has new surprises every year. SUMMER IS NOW OFFICIAL!
SUMMER SOUNDS--The All Arts Council and the Town of St. Albans welcome a band that can rock the Pavilion as Carol Ann Jones & her All-Star Band The Superchargers perform a Labor Day tribute in the Summer Sounds Bay Day season finale on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. The popular rock band from Georgia will play right into the fireworks.
The Superchargers have a fresh take on rockabilly, country, rock & roll, bluegrass and contemporary music. Ms. Jones' debut indie album, Out of the Blue, showcases her broad range of music from All About the Wheels and Mr. Engineer (that would be St. Albans' theme song) to the Farmhouse Blues.
"It's rBHT free, organic fun for everyone!" Ms. Jones said.
The regional band has nationally known performers: Andre Maquera on lead-guitar and backing vocals; Gary "Spud" Spaulding on drums and percussion; Thom Carvey on bass and sax; Will Patton on bass, steel guitar and mandolin and Carol Ann Jones on lead vocal and acoustic guitar.

The community based All Arts Council brings the performing arts to northwestern Vermont. The concerts are always on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m., always in a town park, and always free. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair as you settle in to enjoy outdoor family music and festivities.
LIVE MUSIC ALL AFTERNOON--The All Arts Council and the Town of St. Albans will offer live music for Bay Day starting about 2 p.m. on the back stage at St. Albans Town Park at the Bay. The afternoon music lineup includes Neon Spoon plus Gary Dulabaum and Josh Brooks, and some very special guests. These popular entertainers will mix it up with great country music, easy rock, and some family and kid friendly favorites.
"We'll play a lot of favorites," said Neon Spoon's Jeff Blouin. Look for music from Golden Earring, Kiss, Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama and more from Mr. Blouin, bass; Adam Blouin, lead guitar; Troy Baker, rhythm and lead guitar; and Dave Atchison, drums. 2:45 and 4:30 p.m. on the Bathhouse stage.
Gary Dulabaum is a nationally known performer, recording artist, author, and teacher from South Burlington. Josh Brooks plays a popular mix of story-based originals and folk songs. Their concert together will include traditional and original American folk songs, sing-alongs, and fun. 2, 3:30 and 5:15 p.m. on the Bathhouse stage.

The family events include the great race, volleyball and horseshoe tournaments, food and games for all ages, and more all starting at 1 p.m. The park opens at 8 a.m. Parking is $3 per car but the music is free.
The Bay Day-Summer Sounds social, presented by St. Albans Town Recreation, will be an all day event with the Bay Day food vendors starting to serve at about 2 p.m.
Fireworks will begin at dusk thanks to generous contributions from the community.
ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on knitter Jan Brosky, quilter Kathleen Patrick, wildlife and landscape painters Frank Tiralla and Henry Trask-Reilly, and tie dye artist Andrew Wooten. ART ON THE WALLS
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments tonight from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of September.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors so all of the sales from the artists' work goes to each artist. The Village Frame Shoppe is located within the coop as a resident framer. The gallery, located at 349 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts landscape artist Ann Bissonnette of Fairfax, a member of the Milton Artists' Guild, this month.
The show continues through the end of September.
ESSEX JUNCTION--The Champlain Valley Fair continues with excellent weather and free performances by the Vermont Talent Showcase in the Vermont State Building, plus the Hot Tamale Brass Trio on the grounds. ON STAGE LIVE
The Art Gallery takes over the Blue Ribbon Pavilion Meeting Rooms with the largest collection of art, in all media, in Vermont
First Night on Stage in the Ware Building Annex at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. offers Gary Dulabaum and Mark Sustic today. The Vermont Talent Showcase features No Strings Attached tomorrow, the Keeghan Nolan Band on Saturday afternoon, and Alanna Freeman on Sunday in the State Building.
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m. The Phil Abair Band takes the stage tomorrow at 9 p.m.

ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls presents Echorev tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.
Echorev is the international trio of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Johnny Nicholson, experimental drummer Jorn Bielfeldt, and singer/songwriter/bass player Ann Driscoll, with electrified folk songs propelled by electro-beats that they blend into a new breed of indie rock. Their debut release, Find North, this month will take you on a journey from the light into the darkness and back again.
The duo of Ben Maddox and Andy Frappier open the show.

RANDOLPH--The Chandler's 19th annual New World Festival is a 12-hour annual all-weather event on Labor Day Sunday. It celebrates the regional Celtic and French Canadian heritage with traditional music and dance, children's activities, and food and crafts on six performance stages and in all-weather tents.
Performers include Summer Sounds favorites Mango Jam, the No Strings Marionette Company, Young Tradition Vermont, plus John Whelan Band, Crowfoot, Norouet, Exces de Trad, Long Time Courting, Ken Perlman and James Prendergast, John Roberts and Tony Barrand, Dentdelion, Boreal Tordu, Kitchen Quartet, Peter and Mary Alice Amidon, the Press Gang, caller Adina Gordon, and a young musicians showcase all as part of 75 of the best regional and international musicians.
Admission is $37 at gate for adults, $11 for students 13-18, and $5 for children 2-12. click here for more info.
