FOOD (and MYSTERIOUS FUR)!--Woodmen of the World presents Gone to the Dog performed by Co-Op Theater East as a mystery dinner at the Opera House at Enosburg Falls Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Victorian era mystery is catered by Chow Bella as a very special fund-raising event that benefits both the Franklin County Humane Society and the Opera House.
2012 marks the fourth year Co-Op Theater East has produced socially minded performances. The ensemble and staff at COTE uses theater to make a positive impact in the world. COTE is in residence at Looking Glass Theater this season.

ST. ALBANS BAY--The Bayside Pavilion presents Carol Ann Jones performing with Dono Schabner and Derek Burkins tomorrow evening at 7 p.m.
They will play a mix of original country/Americana and popular classic covers.

SMALL-SCALE CERAMIC SCULPTURE BIENNIAL (November 19)--Two by Two, the Eastern Washington University Gallery of Art juried small-scale ceramic sculpture biennial, has cash and/or purchase awards. Entry fee.

NYC4PA INTERNATIONAL JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION (November 30)--The theme is PEOPLE (Alone, Together, In the street, At Work/At Play). The show with cash prizes, online gallery, and exhibition in a NYC gallery, is open to professional and amateur photographers working in all photographic formats. Entry fee.

CALL FOR SCULPTORS (December 1)--The Wheeling National Heritage Area seeks sculptors for the creation of a life-size bronze figurative sculpture of Francis Harrison Pierpont, the father of West Virginia. The sculpture will be set at West Virginia Independence Hall in Downtown Wheeling.

FAIRFIELD--The Bent Northrup Library hosts a Community Adieu & Thank You on Monday at 3-5 p.m. to Sara Kittell, Lynn Dickinson, and Richard Howrigan for their service in the legislature.
HIGHGATE--Highgate Public Library has been approved as a Girls on the Run site, the seventh such site in Franklin County. The Highgate focus is on students in grades 3-5.
Girls on the Run "inspire(s) girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running." And books, of course.

RICHFORD--The A. A. Brown Public Library has set a goal of $12,273 needed to continue as the center of the community; the "Go To" place for residents and neighbors to find answers and make connections.

SWANTON--The Swanton Free Public Library book group is reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter, a novel by Kim Edwards. They will meet to discuss the book on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the library.

ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Free Library has a busy day today with Burglars Can't Be Choosers by Lawrence Block for Mornings, Muffins & Mysteries at 10:30 a.m., the Writers' Medley for those interested in pursuing writing and sharing work with peers this afternoon at 2 p.m. Teen Craft takes over at 4 p.m. to make a cool chunky ring out of shrink plastic.
The Movie Matinee on Saturday at 1 p.m. features the newly released animated film Brave for the entire family. All films are shown on the 4' by 6' screen in the upstairs conference room cinema. Admission is free, along with popcorn and beverage.
Next Tuesday, Classic Readers digs in to The Wreath by Sigrid Undset at the library at 6:30 p.m.
