Art-Train-History Festival

Artrain USA (the nation's only traveling art museum on a train) makes its only stop in Vermont in this Century when the museum in motion rolls into St Albans. The Artrain visit is the centerpiece of a week-long Railroad Days Festival that will fill downtown St Albans October 30 through November 7, 1999.
Railroad memorabilia and exhibits will be displayed at the Armory and the St Albans Historical Museum diorama will be open. The NASA Mobile Aeronautics Lab will be open all week. There will be a history tour in Taylor Park to present the Civil War history of St Albans. Thanks to the Vermont National Guard, there will be tours of a Blackhawk helicopter and an M1 tank. Community events also include a cooking contest, downtown decorations, farm market, a flag ceremony, two Gate Players plays, a library event, a movie at the Welden, quilt contest, railroad memorabilia and exhibits, and a Swing Dance.

Here are four articles that describe this major Vermont event:

Artrain and the Railroad Days Festival are presented by the All Arts Council of Franklin County and the St Albans Area Chamber of Commerce.
